The Miracle League of Linn County is home to approximately 150 players with special needs who come together to enjoy America’s favorite pastime – Baseball. Each year, we rely on many volunteers to provide our special athletes the joy of hitting a baseball, scoring a run, and being part of a team. Together, our players and volunteers share friendship, camaraderie, acceptance, and FUN! Come join us at our ball field for a rewarding experience.

Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Miracle League of Linn County! There are two volunteer slots each Saturday – one morning and one afternoon . Each slot covers three games. The expectation is volunteers stay for all three games for the time slot. Minimum age for volunteers is 12 (unless authorized by the committee). A signed waiver is required to participate. If you sign-up a group to volunteer, you are responsible for bringing signed waivers with you for each member of your group. The waiver will be emailed to the group lead.

Cancellations will be posted on social media / or email in the event of inclement weather.

Buddy: You will be matched with a new player each game.  You will introduce yourself and get to know each other, run the bases with the player, stand in the field with the player, engage the player in conversation to enhance their experience, and after the game you will walk the player out to their parent / guardian.

Catcher: You will manage home plate which will include collecting pitchers from the pitcher, setting up and taking down the tee, and keeping the home plate area clear when players run the bases.

Pitcher: You will pitch to the players who do not use a tee.  Players will have varied skill levels, therefore most pitches will be slow and underhand.
